Son tres exámenes. Los tres exámenes del MCAD forman parte de los cinco del MCSD para plataforma.NET. Es decir, tras aprobar el MCAD sería necesario aprobar otros tres exámenes para ser MCSD. Se debe aprobar un examen de Visual Basic.net para Windows (1) o para Web (1) o los equivalentes en C# A continuación debe aprobarse el examen de XML para Visual Basic.NET (2) o el equivalente para C# El último examen puede ser, por ejemplo, el de Diseño e Implementación de una Base de Datos con SQL Server. Es el elegido en muchos masters de Microforum dado su elevado valor en el mercado laboral y profesional.
